Architecture & Environmental and Sustainable Studies Student

I was born in Lyon, France, in February of 2003 to two artist parents. My father, also born in France, found his passion in the classical music world at a very young age, as a violinist and conductor. My mother, who was born in Casablanca, Morocco, but moved to France at 12 years of age with her family, and recently developed a career in the film industry.

After spending a few years between France and Boston, the family moved to Seattle, where I learned to speak English, through an American curriculum. Growing up in Seattle, I was shown the beauty of the mountain ranges and the natural parks that fill the urban areas. Participating in various hiking and camping trips, I had never felt so close to these phenomenons. In a three-week exertion to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, in Northern Alaska, I backpacked through the damp tundra and isolated mountain ranges that inhabited various species, such as goats and grizzly bears, keeping a cautious lookout constantly in the harsh cold of the North. Through experiences like these, I not only was able to learn various life skills, but also reflected on myself and grew from the lessons learned.

Attending high school in Los Angeles, I quickly lost the rich green forests and parks, but enjoyed the proximity to the oceans, all factors that contributed to my goals towards sustainable projects. As I was exposed to better understanding of true costs and unbelievable human impact on the environment, my motivation to contribute to the creation and distribution of sustainable solutions grew.
